Connect Total Express

Track the parcels you already ship with Total Express and let Vipter mark the orders as shipped and delivered. The integration does not quote shipping nor buy labels.

With Total Express connected, Vipter follows the parcels you already register at Total Express, through the Notazz logistics or the Total Express panel itself. Each parcel is linked to the store order and, as the tracking moves, the order becomes shipped and then delivered, without anyone marking it by hand.

The integration only tracks. It does not quote shipping at checkout and does not buy labels.

Before you start

  • The Total Express API user and password. They are the credentials of the authentication header (Basic) Total Express sends to the store. If you do not have them, ask your Total Express account manager.
  • The orders' invoice issued by Vipter, through the invoicing integration or the ERP. Vipter finds each parcel's order by the NF-e number.
  • Admin or Owner role in the Vipter project.

Total Express does not know the Vipter order, and Vipter does not know the tracking code before shipping. So every hour Vipter reads the parcels registered in your Total Express account and looks, for each one, for:

  1. The Vipter order id, when the parcel was registered with it.
  2. The NF-e number, compared with the store's authorized notes. When more than one note has the same number, the one with the same series wins.

Parcels that match no store order are left out. A Total Express account also used by other sales channels does not get in the way.

Step 1: connect in Vipter

  1. In the Vipter dashboard, open GeneralIntegrationsShippingTotal Express.
  2. In the Connection card, fill in API user and API password.
  3. Keep Active on and click Save.

When you save, Vipter checks the user and password at Total Express. To change only the user later, leave the password blank: the saved password stays.

Step 2: check a parcel

  1. After saving, the Look up a parcel card shows up on the page.
  2. Type a Total Express tracking code or an NF-e number and click Look up.

It worked if

The parcel shows up with its latest event, the estimated delivery and the store order linked to it. A parcel not tracked yet joins the tracking on the next read.

How it works afterwards

  • First read: runs within 5 minutes after saving and looks for the parcels registered in the last 7 days. After that, the read repeats every hour.
  • Tracking: Vipter checks the open parcels every hour while they wait for pickup, and every 3 hours in transit.
  • Shipped: as soon as Total Express collects the parcel, the order becomes shipped, with Total Express as the carrier and the tracking code. The buyer gets the Order shipped e-mail, if it is on in Transactional e-mails.
  • Delivered: with the delivery done, the order becomes delivered. A parcel Vipter finds already delivered moves the order without sending the shipped e-mail, which would arrive late.
  • Not delivered: failed attempts (buyer away, address not found) and returns show as Not delivered on the order, with the latest event. The order stays shipped until the delivery.
  • On the order page: the Shipment card shows the tracking code, the latest Total Express event and the estimated delivery. The Update tracking button checks the tracking right away.

The shipped and delivered order events also go out through webhooks and automations, as when the team marks the shipment by hand. See Mark shipping and delivery.

Turn on, turn off and remove

  • Active: Off, Vipter stops reading and tracking the parcels.
  • Remove: Vipter stops tracking. Shipments already recorded stay on the orders.

Common problems

  • Total Express refused the user and password. Check the API credentials with your Total Express account manager.

The user or the password are not the API ones. Check with Total Express and save again.

  • A parcel does not show up on the order

Look the code up in the Look up a parcel card. If it says No order of this store has this note or this code., the note of that order was not issued by Vipter or is not authorized yet. Vipter checks pending notes every 6 hours.

  • The order already had a label

An order with an open label from another carrier does not get a second shipment. Cancel the old label on the order if it is no longer valid.
