What Vipter is

The pieces of Vipter (project, product, offer, provider, flow, checkout, portal and team) and how they connect on the way to your first sale.

Vipter is where you build your store, take payments and follow orders and subscriptions. You add what you sell, connect the account that receives the money (Stripe, Pagar.me, Mercado Pago, Asaas or Paystack) and share a payment link. Everything else (checkout, recurring charges, customer portal, notices to other systems) runs from there.

The pieces

Project (the store). Each project is an independent store, with its own catalog, customers, orders and settings. You create the first one right after signing up and can have more than one, up to your plan's limit. Your Vipter plan belongs to your account and covers all of your stores.

Product. What you sell: a course, an e-book, a physical product, a subscription software. The product type decides whether the charge is one-time or recurring, whether the checkout asks for a shipping address and offers shipping, and which invoice is issued by default. See product types.

Offer. A way of selling a product: price, currency, billing cycle, trial period. A product has one or more offers, and each offer has its own payment link. The offer is what you promote. See offers.

Payment provider. The account that processes the charge and receives the money, such as your Stripe or Pagar.me account. In Vipter, each connected account is a connection. You can have several, even from the same provider. See how payments work.

Payment flow. The rule that decides which connection charges each payment and what happens when it is declined. Your first card account creates the basic flows on its own; you only change them to split sales between accounts or to have a fallback. See payment flows.

Checkout and payment link. The page where the buyer pays. It lives at pay.vipter.com or on a custom domain, with your brand. See how the checkout works and payment links.

Customer portal. The area where your customer signs in with the purchase e-mail, gets a 6-digit code and handles on their own whatever you allow: cancel, change plans, update the card. It is in GeneralSettingsCustomer portal.

Team. The people who work on the store with you, each with a role:

  • Owner: As Owner you answer for this whole store.
  • Admin: As Admin you also set up products, payments, integrations and the team.
  • Sales: As Sales you follow this store's orders, customers and subscriptions.

The team is in GeneralSettingsTeam, and the number of people depends on the plan.

The path to your first sale

  1. Create your account with e-mail and password or with Google.
  2. Create the project: the store's name, country, currency, time zone and contact.
  3. Choose the plan and activate the account. After the plan payment, Vipter sets up the store's payment account in a few minutes.
  4. Connect a payment provider, such as Stripe or Pagar.me.
  5. Create a product with an offer.
  6. Test the store and share the offer's payment link.

The dashboard shows this same path as a Getting started list on the project's home page, until the first paid sale. The checklist explains each step.
