Path to selling courses and digital products

What to set up, and in what order, to sell a course or e-book on Vipter, with a member area, downloadable files, PIX and installments.

Admin or OwnerAll plans

For courses, e-books and other digital products sold once, the path is short: no shipping and no delivery address. What matters is getting paid by PIX (Brazil's instant payment) and card in installments, and granting access right after payment.

Before you start

1. Connect a provider with PIX and installments

In Brazil, a large share of digital product sales is paid by PIX or by card in installments. Connect an account that does both, such as Pagar.me, Mercado Pago or Asaas. Then see PIX and set the installments rule.

2. Fill in the store address

By default, a course's checkout doesn't ask the buyer for an address. In that case, the store's address is sent to the provider as the billing address. Fill in Store address in GeneralSettingsGeneral.

3. Create a Course product

In CatalogProducts, create the product and, in Product type, pick Course (or Digital product, for an e-book). Both are one-time payments. See product types and create a product.

Selling access with a monthly fee?

Use Virtual subscription (SaaS / platform), which is recurring, and follow the path for SaaS and digital subscriptions. Downloadable files only exist in the Course and Digital product types.

4. Create the offer

The offer sets the price and generates the payment link you put on your sales page. See create an offer.

5. Deliver the content

Choose one of these ways, or both:

  • Member area. Connect the platform in GeneralIntegrationsMember areas. Vipter enrolls the buyer when the sale is approved and removes access on a refund or chargeback. See connect MemberKit. Cademí and Membox.io are on the list too.
  • Downloadable files. In the product's Downloads tab, add the links to the files you host. After payment, the buyer sees the links on the thank-you page and in the customer portal. They also go out by e-mail when the store has an e-mail provider connected in GeneralIntegrations. You can limit the number of downloads and how long access lasts.

6. Increase the order value

The offer page holds the order bump (an extra item ticked on the checkout itself) and the one-click upsell (an offer shown right after payment). Coupons are in CatalogCoupons.

7. Measure your ads and test

Set up conversion tracking, for example with Meta. Finally, test the store with an end-to-end purchase: payment, access to the member area and download links.
