Payment link and URL parameters
Understand the payment link format and build links with a pack, coupon, seller, language, currency, buyer details and UTMs.
Every offer has a payment link. Whoever opens the link lands straight on that offer's checkout. You can add parameters to the link to apply a coupon, sell a pack, record the seller or the campaign, and pick the language and currency.
The link format
https://pay.vipter.com/curso-fotografia
https://pay.vipter.com/ofr_a3454b7c008d455fbc5c3fc436c1879dThe last part is the offer's Link slug or, with no slug, its code, which starts with ofr_. Both addresses open the same offer.
With a custom domain active, the dashboard shows the links on your domain, such as https://checkout.yourstore.com/curso-fotografia. Links on pay.vipter.com keep working. Your domain only opens offers from your store.
Where to copy the link
- On the product page, Offers tab: the Payment link column has a copy button on each offer.
- On the offer page, Payment link card: the link, the copy and Open buttons, and the field to change the slug. See Create an offer.
- On the offer's Packs card: each pack's Pack link, already with
?pack=. - Sellers find their links, already with their code, in SalesCommissions, under the My links section.
Accepted parameters
Start the first parameter with ? and separate the next ones with &. The order doesn't matter.
| Parameter | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
pack | Sells a pack of the offer, by the number of units | ?pack=3 |
code | Applies a coupon as soon as the checkout opens | ?code=BLACK10 |
v | Records the seller who made the sale | ?v=ana |
lang | Opens the checkout in a language | ?lang=en |
currency | Opens the checkout in a currency | ?currency=USD |
email | Fills in the buyer's e-mail | ?email=ana@exemplo.com |
name | Fills in the buyer's name | ?name=Ana%20Souza |
utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, utm_id | Record the campaign the sale came from | ?utm_source=instagram&utm_campaign=lancamento |
src, sck | Record the source in the format used by affiliate platforms | ?src=bio |
fbclid, gclid, gbraid, wbraid, ttclid, epik, tblci, ob_click_id, msclkid | Click IDs that ad platforms add by themselves | (automatic) |
pack: sell a pack
?pack=3 sells the offer's 3-unit pack, at the pack price. Without the parameter, the link sells 1 unit at the offer price. The checkout has no pack selector: to offer 1, 3 and 6 units, use one link for each on your sales page.
If the number isn't a pack that exists on the offer, or if the offer is a subscription, the link shows the unavailable-link page. It never falls back to 1 unit without warning.
code: apply a coupon
?code=BLACK10 applies the coupon BLACK10 on arrival. The code accepts up to 40 letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores. If the coupon has expired or doesn't apply to the order, it shows in the summary with the reason and the buyer pays without the discount: the link doesn't block the purchase.
Subscriptions ignore the parameter, because they don't accept coupons. On pack links, the coupon only applies if it is set up to apply to packs.
v: record the seller
?v=ana assigns the sale to the seller with the code ana, if they are active. The browser remembers the code for up to 30 days, and the last seller link the buyer opened is the one that counts. A code that doesn't exist or is inactive doesn't assign the sale to anyone.
Codes are set in the Sellers card, in GeneralSettingsTeam.
lang: pick the language
Use pt, en, es, fr, de, it, ja, ko, ru or zh. The link's language applies even when the store sells to a single country and the checkout hides the selector. The browser remembers the choice on later visits. See the checkout languages.
currency: pick the currency
Use the currency's three-letter code, such as BRL, USD or EUR. If the offer has no price in that currency, or if the store doesn't accept it, the checkout opens in the store's currency or in the default price's currency.
email and name: fill in the details
Useful in links sent by e-mail or WhatsApp to people you already know. The buyer can still correct the fields. Encode spaces and special characters: Ana Souza becomes Ana%20Souza.
Personal data in the link
The e-mail and name are visible in the address and in the browser history of whoever opens the link. Use these parameters only in individual links, never in ads or public pages.
UTMs and click IDs: record the source
The checkout stores the UTMs, src, sck and click IDs with the sale. The first campaign that brought the buyer in the last 30 days is the one that counts, even if they come back later another way. Click IDs use the most recent value.
Sales by source show in GeneralConversionsSales sources, and click IDs feed the conversions sent to ad platforms. See Conversion tracking.
If your sales page is on another site, Vipter's UTM forwarding script (t.js) carries these parameters, and the seller code too, from the page to the checkout link.
Examples
Pack of 3 with a coupon, coming from an Instagram campaign:
https://pay.vipter.com/kit-cha?pack=3&code=BLACK10&utm_source=instagram&utm_campaign=black-fridayA seller's link, with the checkout in English:
https://pay.vipter.com/curso-fotografia?v=ana&lang=enIndividual link with the buyer's details filled in:
https://pay.vipter.com/curso-fotografia?email=ana%40exemplo.com&name=Ana%20SouzaCommon problems
-
The link shows "This payment link is not available"
The offer was archived, Link enabled is off, no price is in a currency the store accepts, or the
?pack=doesn't exist on the offer. Check the offer and the pack number. -
The coupon in the link gave no discount
The order summary shows the reason next to the coupon, such as an expired coupon, a minimum amount not reached or a coupon that doesn't apply to packs. Adjust the coupon in CatalogCoupons.
-
The sale wasn't assigned to the seller
The code is wrong or the seller is inactive. Check the code in GeneralSettingsTeam. An admin can assign the seller on the order page.
What to do next
- See how buyers see the checkout.
- Use your domain in the links.
How buyers see the checkout
The buyer's path from the link to the thank-you page, the languages and currencies, and what changes with your store's settings.
Checkout languages and currencies
Which language buyers see the checkout, the thank-you page and the customer area in, when the language selector disappears and which currency the checkout opens in.
