Create a quick payment link
Charge an amount agreed with the customer through a link with a name and an amount, with no product setup, and follow its payments.
A quick link charges an amount you agreed with the customer: a proposal, a one-off service, an order closed over WhatsApp. You give it a name, pick the currency and the amount, and Vipter creates the link right away. The customer pays on the store's checkout, by card or PIX, and the payment becomes an order like any other. Afterwards, if you want, you say which catalog products that amount paid for (see Compose a quick link order).
Before you start
- Any role in the project, including Sales.
- An active payment provider that settles the link's currency. For PIX and installments, the currency is the Brazilian real.
- The store's Vipter plan paid up.
Step 1: create the link
- Open SalesQuick links and click New link.
- Fill in the card's fields:
- Link name: what the customer sees on the checkout and on the receipt, between 3 and 80 characters. Use something they recognize, such as "Brand consulting · Ana Smith".
- Currency: only the currencies the store's providers settle are listed.
- Amount: the single-payment amount. If the customer pays in installments with interest, the interest is added on top.
- Ask for address: on by default, because the invoice and deliveries need the customer's address. Turn it off only when you will not issue an invoice or ship anything. With a product that ships, it stays on.
- Click Create link. The link opens on its detail page, ready to share.
The address is pay.vipter.com/l/ followed by an 8-character code, or the store's own domain when one is active.
Step 2: adjust the options, if needed
More options holds the options no link requires:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Amount type | Fixed amount charges exactly the link amount. Open amount lets the customer type how much to pay, from a Minimum amount. |
| Payment methods | Card, PIX or both, among those the store accepts. |
| Installments and Interest-free installments | Installments for this link only, only in reais, on top of the store's installment rule. The card provider must also accept installments. |
| Payment limit | How many payments the link accepts. A PIX that was generated and not paid yet holds a slot until it expires. A full refund or a chargeback gives the slot back. |
| Valid until | The link sells until the end of that day, in the store's time. Whoever was already on the payment step when the deadline passed can still pay. |
| Allowed e-mails | One e-mail per line, or @company.com to allow the whole domain. Any other e-mail is refused at checkout, and the list is never shown to the buyer. Up to 200 entries. |
| Order products | The catalog products the amount pays for, with quantity and negotiated price. The total must equal the link amount. The order is born with these products, and the invoice and deliveries go out on payment. Fixed-amount links only. |
| Description | Text shown on the checkout, under the name: what is included, deadlines, terms. |
| Page after payment | Where the customer goes after paying. Empty, they see the thank-you page. |
| Link alias (optional) | A readable address such as /l/summer-event instead of the code. Anyone who types the alias opens the checkout: for a proposal to a single customer, prefer the code or the e-mail list. |
| Responsible seller | Who gets the sale when the link does not carry another seller's code. See below. |
| Internal reference | A reference only the team sees, such as the proposal number. |
After the first order, the link's amount, currency, Amount type and products no longer change. To charge another amount, use Duplicate, which creates a new link already filled in. Everything else stays editable.
Step 3: share
In the Share card on the link's page:
- Copy link copies the address. If you have a seller code, Copy with my code copies it with
?v=and your code. - WhatsApp opens WhatsApp with a ready message and the link.
- The QR code is for charging in person. Download QR code downloads the image.
- Send invitation sends the customer an e-mail from the store with a personal link. Their e-mail comes filled in on the checkout, and the personal link lasts 30 days. If the store has no active e-mail provider, Vipter creates the personal link for you to copy and send through another channel. Invitations are listed on the page, with the date the customer opened them.
- Charge saved card charges the link on the card the customer already saved with the store, without them opening the checkout. It works like the New sale on the saved card, with the same conditions. Agree on it with the customer first.
What the customer sees
The store's checkout, with the link's name, description and amount. There is no coupon field, pack, add-on offer or post-purchase offer. When the link cannot sell, the customer sees why instead of the payment:
| Link status | The customer sees |
|---|---|
| Paused | That the link is temporarily unavailable. |
| Expired | That the link has expired and they should ask the sender for a new one. |
| Sold out | That the link has already been used. |
| Awaiting payment | That a payment is in progress. It happens when the last slot is held by a pending PIX. |
| Archived | The store's website, like a disabled offer link. |
Who gets the sale
The sale goes to the first seller found in this order:
- The
?v=code in the address the customer opened. - The link's Responsible seller.
- The seller code the customer's browser kept in the last 30 days, from another link.
Commission follows the usual rule: calculated at payment on the amount paid, without shipping or interest. See Sellers and commissions.
Follow and manage
The list in SalesQuick links shows each link's status, uses, expiry, seller and revenue. Archived links only show when you filter Status by Archived.
The link's page shows visits, checkouts started, paid orders, conversion and revenue, plus the orders the link created. Quick link payments are not sent to ad pixels (Meta, Google, TikTok and others): the visit's origin and the seller are still recorded on the order.
To compare links with each other over a period, open the Quick links report in Reports. For each link it shows visits, checkout sessions, paid orders, conversion, net revenue, average ticket, the discount negotiated below the catalog price and the orders still waiting for composition. Click a row to open the link. With the Sales role, the report only shows the links where you are the Responsible seller.
Anyone on the team sees every link and can share, invite, charge a saved card and duplicate. Editing, Pause and Archive are for whoever created the link and for Admins and the Owner. An unarchived link comes back paused, so it does not start selling by surprise.
Common problems
- No provider of the store takes USD.: no active provider of the store settles that currency. Pick another currency or connect a provider that settles it.
- The products add up to R$ 4,500.00, but the link is R$ 4,800.00. The sum must match exactly.: adjust the prices or use Split by list price.
- Only whoever created the link or an admin can change it.: ask whoever created the link, or an Admin, to make the change.
- The customer says their e-mail was refused: the link has Allowed e-mails and their e-mail is not on the list. Add the e-mail or the domain on the link's page.
What to do next
- Compose a quick link order with the products the amount paid for.
- Change the status manually, when the customer paid outside the checkout.
Mark shipping and delivery
Mark a physical order as shipped, with carrier and tracking, let the buyer know by e-mail and record the delivery.
Compose a quick link order
Say which catalog products a quick link payment bought, with the negotiated price, to issue the invoice, count revenue per product and release deliveries.
