Roles and permissions

What Sales, Admin and Owner can see and do in each area of the dashboard, the areas Sales can't see and the rules of the Owner role.

Each team member has a role in each store: Sales, Admin or Owner. Roles are tiered: Admin can do everything Sales can, and Owner everything Admin can. A person can have different roles in different stores.

In short:

Sales: As Sales you follow this store's orders, customers and subscriptions.
Admin: As Admin you also set up products, payments, integrations and the team.
Owner: As Owner you answer for this whole store. This is the person who subscribes to and pays for the plan.

What Sales can't see

How the store is set up is the Admin's business. For people with the Sales role:

The menu doesn't show the Payments and General groups, that is, Providers, Payment flows, Installments, Conversions, Integrations and Settings.
The profile picture menu doesn't show Vipter plan.
A direct link to these areas, including any page inside them, opens the We couldn't find this page page.
The dashboard search only offers pages the person can open.
The notice banners at the top show, but without the links to choose a plan or manage billing. Notices that point to the settings also disappear.
The product page doesn't show the conversions tab, and the order page doesn't show the source and conversions card.

Rules of the Owner role

One owner per store. It is the person who created the project.
You can't invite someone as owner. Invitations only accept Sales or Admin.
The owner can't be demoted or removed, not by an admin, not by themselves. To leave, they transfer ownership and become an admin.
The plan belongs to the owner. It covers all of their stores. See Plans and limits.

What changes access besides the role

Situation	Effect
Store with the Suspended status	The dashboard is read-only for everyone, including the owner.
Store with the Past due status	Creating new items, such as products and customers, is paused until the plan is brought up to date. See Past-due payment.
Demo store	The sample records are read-only for every role.

Change someone's role

An admin or the owner changes the role in GeneralSettingsTeam, in the menu on the person's row. See Team and invitations.
